Judith Ann Wise was born October 13, 1942, at Bay City, MI, to Louis and Virginia (Christie) Jacobs. She grew up at Essexville, MI, and graduated from Saint John High School in Essexville in 1958. On October 20, 1959, she married David Wise at Essexville. She lived in Grandview MO, and then moved to Mitchell, SD in 1965. She was employed at Howard Johnson Restaurant in Michigan, and the Dino Sinclair and Courts Café in Mitchell. For many years she owned the Knit & Purl Shop in Mitchell. She was a lifetime member and held many offices in the American Legion Auxiliary and the 8 and 40 Women’s Auxiliary. For twenty five years she chaired the American Legion Auxiliary Saint Patrick’s Day Luncheon in Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband, David; one son, David R. Wise Jr. and wife Cara of Piedmont; one daughter, Laurie Wise of Mitchell; two grandsons, Ryan and Nathan Wise; three brothers: Michael Jacobs and Carol Tacey of Wisner, MI, Philip Jacobs and Cindy Neal of Bay City, MI, Gregory Jacobs and wife, Linda of Unionville, MI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Ellen Jacobs and three brothers: Dennis, Gary and Charles.
