Vivian Irene Miller


March 16, 1928 - March 24, 2014


Vivian Irene Miller was born March 16, 1928 on the family farm near Troy, SD to Floyd E. and Grace (Hardie) Miller.  She graduated from Waverly High School and attended Business College in Mitchell.  On August 9, 1947 she married Cecil L. Kappenman.  Vivian was employed at Commercial Bank in Mitchell for many years.  On March 12, 1964 she married Keith C. Miller in Mitchell.  She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and an active member of the Genealogical Society.

She is survived by her three children: Randall “Randy” (Fauna) Kappenman, Gregory (JoAnn) Kappenman and Darren Miller all of Mitchell; two step-daughters: Michelle Quiring, Two Harbors, MN; Melissa (Dan) Radigan, Sioux Falls; one step-son, Timothy Miller, St Louis Park, MN; and six grandchildren: Joseph Kappenman, Jorena (Matthew) Siegmann, Sarah Miller, Scott, Nick and Pat Radigan; three brothers: Merle Miller, Rapid City, Richard (Marcy) Miller, Milbank, Robert (Kay) Miller, Alexandria; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Miller, Clear Lake.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Cecil Kappenman and Keith Miller, two sons: Brian in infancy and Stuart Kappenman; daughter-in-law, Christina Kappenman; one brother, Kenneth Miller; one sister, Myona Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Miller.

Memorials are preferred to be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church.

So sorry to hear about Vivian. I spent a lot of time with you guys when I stayed with Bob and Kay.
I baby sat for Darren a lot. Your mom was a wonderful person and now she is in peace and with no more struggles. Randy it has been years since I have seen you. I would have liked to have come for the funeral but you never know what this weather would bring and the roads from Fargo ND down I29 can be rough. God Bless.
