Charles Leonard Croyle was born December 30, 1918 to Charles Frederick and Esther Emily (St. John) Croyle in Laramie, WY. He attended grade school in Pueblo, CO. Later the family moved to Atascadero, CA, where he attended high school, then moved to Harrison, ID, where he graduated from high school in 1936.
He received his bachelor’s degree in 1942 from the Immanuel Missionary Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. There he met Ethel Virginia Graves and they were married June 8, 1945.
Leonard sold real estate I n Colorado Springs, CO; he and Virginia also owned several businesses. In 1971, the family moved to Mitchell, NE. In 1975, the family moved to Mitchell, SD so that the children could attend Faith Bible School. In Mitchell he worked for Puetz Construction Company, Jack’s Campers and Owatonna Manufacturing. In his “retirement” years, he helped with some of the maintenance work at Faith Bible School, and attended Faith Missionary Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, JoAnn (Dan) Tapio; brothers, Lawrence and Don; sister, Winifred Farmer; and great-grandson, Justin Carvo.
He is survived by daughters, Beverly (Quent) Keaveny of Rainier, WA, Elizabeth (Jared) Graf of Maple City, MI, Cheryl (Ray) Rothfuss of Mitchell, SD, Ginny (Jeff) Hooker of Emory, TX; son Charles (Lisa) Croyle of Granger, IA; sister, Josephine (Ed) Wickwire of Newport, WA; and brother, Homer of Spokane, WA, thirteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
