Henry August Iburg was born June 26, 1924 in Dallas, SD to August and Frederica (Huber) Iburg. In 1939 he moved to Hanson County and joined the Zion Lutheran Church. He began farming in 1940 and never really “retired” from the farming life he loved. On February 14, 1970 he married Leona Blunt at Mitchell. They farmed in the Fulton and Mitchell area and enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel camper and spending the winters down south. After Leona’s death in 2001 Henry moved to Mitchell. He has resided at Countryside Living since 2011.
Henry is survived by three step-daughters: Beverly (Stan) Buckalew of Forsyth, MT and their children Clint Buckalew, Cindy Tirrell; Linda (Bill) O’Donnell of Buffalo, WY and their children Carrie Cook and Cathy O’Donnell; and Sharon (Larry) Kabris, of Rapid City, SD and her children, LeRoy, Bradley, Steven Cheeseman and Debbie Reindl, along with numerous step great-grandchildren; one brother, Hugo (Darlene) Iburg of Mitchell and one sister, Ruth (Tom) Neuberger of Canistota.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother, Fred and seven sisters: Marie Aden, Ida Lindholm, Augusta Flynn, Martha Iburg, Clara Hutchinson, Meta Kimball and Marge Schlact.
