Lorraine Frey was born October 24, 1930, at Mitchell to Ralph and Cora (Huber) Preston. She grew up and attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School. She worked at the Ruby Ann Café and Montgomery Wards in Mitchell. On May 9th, 1954, she married Ernest Frey at the United Methodist Church in Mitchell. For over thirty years she was employed at the Daily Republic until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was in the Church Circle and taught Sunday School for many years. She did volunteer work for the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two children, Ernest (Ernie) Frey of Mitchell, Jean Hanson of Mitchell; three grandchildren: Dusty Hanson of Mitchell, Jason Hanson and wife, Amanda of Sioux Falls, Jared Hanson of Mitchell; three great-grandchildren: Ernie, Allie and Mason Hanson; one brother, Bill Preston and wife, Berniece of Sioux Falls; one sister, Beverly Frey of Mitchell and one sister-in-law, Helen Preston of Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1989 and one brother Francis Preston.
