Rosetta Fern Hildebrandt was born June 5, 1911 at Northville, SD, to Earl and Louella (Jenkins) Martin. She graduated from Waubay High School and attended Northern State College in Aberdeen. On January 1, 1931 she married L.L. “Vern” Hildebrandt in Aberdeen. They lived in Aberdeen, Rapid City, then moved to Mitchell in 1941. She was a partner in United Auto Parts for many years and owned a children’s clothing store. She was a longtime member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church where she was a pianist for many years. She was president of the Wesleyan Women’s Missionary Society and a member of the Monday Musicale Club.
Rosetta is survived by one son, Les Hildebrandt and wife, Mervela of Mitchell, one daughter, Ruth Brane and husband, Pierce of Shawnee, KS, seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern in 2004, one son, Earl Hildebrandt, two daughters, Linda Lloyd and Janis Kinyon, her brother, Robert and her parents.
