Norma Elaine Heidinger


December 28, 1928 - April 18, 2013


Norma Elaine Heidinger was born December 28, 1928 at Artesian, SD to Wayne and Edith (Gaston) Peer. She grew up at Artesian and graduated from Artesian High School.  On January 24, 1955 she married Wayne Paul Heidinger at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.  Norma enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and gardening.  Her greatest joy was her home filled with all her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. For numerous years she worked with the Red Cross.  She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne, one daughter, Tamara (Kevin) Larson, Rapid City; three sons: Michael (Cheryl) Heidinger, Elk River, MN, Steven (Dianna) Heidinger, Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey (Marjorie) Heidinger, Mitchell;  one brother, Warren Peer, Artesian; three sisters: Beverly Wire, Mitchell, Vera May, Mitchell, Donna (Cliff) Glanzer, Wolsey; eleven grandchildren: Dustin (Samantha) Heidinger, Amber (Jose) Lugo, Arin (Jason) Riggs, Brandy (Joseph) Torres, Tyler (April) Larson, Tara Larson, Trevor (Olivia) Heidinger, Tyler Heidinger, Jeffrey Heidinger, Trisha Parker and Stephan Lopez, sixteen great-grandchildren: Tyrani, Taryn, Isabel, Veronica, Tyalee (Austin), Ethan, Jaysten, Weston, Morgan, Ava, Elyse, Sahnai, Dexter, Michael, Maxwell and Mason and one great-great-grandchild, Hadlee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Lou Peer, brother, Laverne Peer, two brothers-in-law: Al May and Don Wire, sister-in-law, Betty Peer and several nephews.

Our sympathy to you the family in the loss of your mom. We always saw them when we came to visit Harold and Lillian. Fond memories.. Also our sympathy for the news that Dad died also. God be with you all.
