Stanley Merle Councillor was born September 26, 1937 at Fort Thompson to Edward and Hermane (Touched) Councillor. He grew up and attended the Mission School in Stephan. At the age of 16 he joined the US Air Force, where he served for eight years and then was employed by Lockheed as a jet engine mechanic until 1975. On February 28, 1989 he married Teresa Brewer in Tampa, FL. While residing in Tampa, Stanley was a professional gambler, betting on the horses. He retired in 2007 and they moved to Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, three sons: Michael Councillor and Patrick Councillor, NM; Charles Councillor, Lake Park, GA; one daughter, Lisa Hamm, Rio Rancho, NM; two brothers: Melvin Grey Owl and Donnie Greyowl, Fort Thompson; granddaughter, Mikki Jo Keeble, grandson, Pat Clark and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren and nephew, Michael (Kathryn) Keeble and numerous other nieces and nephews.
