Sylvia Ezella Mehlhaff was born July 11, 1929 at Tripp, SD to Edward and Bertha (Buchholz) Mehlhaff. She attended Baltzer #43 Country School through the 8th grade. She worked on the farm with her parents until their retirement. She was a nanny to several families with children while she lived in Tripp.
Later she moved to Mitchell where she worked in housekeeping at St. Joseph Hospital until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Parkston.
She is survived by two sisters: Florence Semmler and husband, Herman of Mitchell, Dorothy Dennis and husband, Lorin of Mitchell and seven nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.
