Margaret Louise (Peggy) Wright was born February 21, 1921, in Mitchell to John and Eliza (Hail) Falk. She grew up in rural White Lake and was a 1939 graduate of White Lake High School. She received her Teaching Certificate and Bachelor’s Degree from Dakota Wesleyan University and taught in Dupree and Deadwood, SD; Rawlins, WY; Cooper Township and the White Lake Schools where she was a long time teacher impacting the lives of many White Lake area students. She married Donn H. Wright in San Francisco on February 9, 1944.
While her husband was on the road in business and politics, she was active in the community and in the White Lake Schools and raised their three sons. Her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren were highlights in her life.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mitchell and an active member of the United Presbyterian Methodist Church of White Lake, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star celebrating 50 years of membership in 1995, American Legion Auxiliary, and Fortnightly Club. She was honored to serve as Grand Marshall of White Lake’s 125th Anniversary Celebration. She was also involved in the White Lake PTA and Busy Beaver 4H organizations. She was a proud witness to the National Geographic stratosphere balloon landing south of White Lake in 1935.
Surviving are her sons: Jan (Joyce), Venice, FL; Bob, White Lake and Lyn (Connie) Cimarron, KS; grandchildren: Ann (Eric) Watt, Cleveland, OH; Jon, San Diego, CA; Heather (Derrick) Renick, Patrick, and Lyn Jr, Cimarron, KS and Laura (Devin) Hamilton, Ensign, KS; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren and brother, John P. (Marge) Falk and sisters-in-law Bernadette Falk, New Holland, PA and Lorna Coderre, Fairmont, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceasing her were her parents, husband, Donn, grandson, Donn, great-granddaughter, Lillian and brothers Dale and Harold (in infancy).
