Obituary

 

 

Robert Chester Schulz was born December 20, 1927, at Platte, SD, to Carl and Agnes (Kubal) Schulz. He grew up and attended school at Platte.  He moved with his family to Mitchell and farmed west of Mitchell his entire life.  On August 22, 1961, he married Joan Kotrba at Mitchell.  He loved hunting, fishing and his Blue Heeler dogs.  He enjoyed John Deere tractors, raising Black Angus cattle and traveling. He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

He is survived by eight children: Phil Schulz and wife, Marsha of Madison, Matt Schulz of Mitchell, James Schulz and wife, Erika of Minneapolis, Judy Wahlen and husband Cort, of Mitchell, Kate Niehus and husband, Gene of Wagner, Theresa Mueller of Mount Vernon, Agnes Clement and husband, Kenneth of Chamberlain; Phyllis Schulz of Lennox; one brother, Duane Schulz and wife, Sandra of Fulton, one sister, Fern Schulz of Mitchell, sixteen grandchildren: Jessica Mueller, Justin Mueller, Victoria Mueller, Jarred Niehus, Collin Schulz, Kyle Schulz Ryan Schulz, Austin Schulz, Crystal Schulz, Chloe Schulz, Delphine Schulz, Rachael Wahlen, Rebecca Wahlen, Christopher Wahlen, Nathan Wahlen, Emily Rose, and one great-granddaughter, Sierra.

To Robert's family I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. Robert was a cousin of mine and even though I did not see him often I do remember he was aways a kind and gentle man. May God comfort you in your loss.
