Obituary

 

              Marlene Lillie Martish was born April 27, 1946, at Portland OR, to Vernon and June (Wendelboe) Adams. She moved to Mitchell with her family at an early age. She grew up and attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1964. Marlene married Kennethy Martish on July 3, 1966 in Mitchell.  She was a dietician with the Mitchell School System for twenty years until her retirement. She had been a resident of Mount Vernon since 2001. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two children: Tonya Ford and her husband, Darin of Mitchell, Troy Martish and special friend, Tammy of Harrisburg; her mother, June Adams of Mitchell; our grandchildren: Nichole Bussmus and husband, Jon of Mitchell, Zachery Martish of Mitchell, Elizabeth Martish of Harrisburg, Samantha Ford of Mitchell; one great grandchild, Zoey Bussmus of Mitchell; one sister, Elaine Rhoades and husband, Steve of Oak Grove, MO; a sister and brother-in-law, Jolynn and Robert Ruden of Buffalo, IA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon, and two grandchildren, Jordan and Olivia Martish.

Whew! Good thing! I mean, sometimes I reemebmr they are down there after all when I do things like trip over them, or elevate them only to realize that I am desperately over-due for a pedicure. But for the most part, outta' sight, outta' mind!

It was a sad experience to see that Marlene had passed away, and we regret we are in Arizona this winter and won't be able to attend her funeral to extend our sympathy to you Ken and family. We will keep you in our prayers.

We are keeping Kenny, Tonya, Troy, and the entire family in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. Marlene was like an aunt to me, and Mom & Dad spent a lot of time with Marlene & Kenny. Cherish the memories and know she will be in our hearts forever. Love to you all!!
