Dwain Oswald Johnson was born in Flandreau, SD on November 28, 1925 to Joseph and Louise (Moller) Johnson. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1943. Dwain served as a Radio Man Third Class in the US Navy in WWII and then graduated from the School of Commerce at the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Business Degree. He married Carol Benson on June 16, 1956.
Dwain had a fulfilling career as a District Sales Manager of Massey Ferguson. In his retirement, he was a very effective recruiter of members to the Kiwanis Club and served as Vice-President of the Sons of Norway. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell for forty-eight years.
Dwain was also fortunate in being chosen for an Honor Flight and traveled to Washington, DC with other honored WWII veterans to tour the Washington Mall and monuments.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughter, Patricia Johnson, son, Joseph Johnson and grandson, Ross Johnson. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Moller (Sally) Johnson and Veryl (Jane) Johnson.

I always appreciated Dwain's similing face at Kiwanis each week. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer a joke to make us laugh. He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Carol, Pat, JBill and Ross. Mr. Johnson was always smiling and friendly and a truly kind person.

Dwain was an amazing man and co Kiwanian!!! Harlan and I extend our sympathy to Carol and Dwain's family.
