Searching... Dates: September 22, 1925 - November 21, 2011Obituary: Delpha Mae Determan was born September 22, 1925 in Alexandria to Floyd and Ora (Nichols) Dolan. On June 12, 1950 she married Virgil Determan. They made their home near Emery where they farmed and raised eleven children. Delpha was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Her children recall her love of cooking, baking and handiwork. She spent many hours researching the family’s history and sharing her memories with others. She was an avid reader and enjoyed scrapbooking. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Virgil; her eleven children: Virgil (Teri) Determan, Richard (Christie) Determan, Emery, Ronald (Janet) Determan, Burke, Dale (Tammy) Determan, Holton, KS, Dennis Determan, Sandra Determan, Mitchell, Cheryl (Randy) Hisek, Tyndall, Kathleen (Wayne) Stroeh, Vermillion, Madelyn (Chuck) Kirby, Roger (Lori) Determan, Sioux Falls and Janet (Lou) Wiegand, Dubuque, IA; thirty-four grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
