Dorothy May Zeal

September 28, 1923 - February 22, 2008

Dorothy May Zeal went home to her Lord and Savior, Friday, February 22, 2008 at Firesteel Healthcare, Mitchell, at the age of 84 years.

Dorothy Mae Zeal was born September 28, 1923 in Mitchell, SD to Claude and Faye (Runyan) Miller.  She grew up and attended schools in Mitchell.  During her youth she and her three sisters sang and danced at the Corn Palace or they were off to the rink, roller skating.  On April 14, 1945 she married James F. Zeal in Mitchell.  They resided briefly in Mitchell, SD before moving to their farm eleven miles southeast of Artesian, SD.  They would raise five daughters and farm there fifty-three years before retiring to Mitchell, SD in August 1999.  Dorothy enjoyed music, making jewelry, cowboy shows and a winning hand of pinochle.  Most important in her life was finding Jesus Christ as her personal savior; her prayer time; morning bible devotion and worshiping the Lord with her omni cord.

Grateful for having shared her life of sixty-two years, are her husband James; five daughters: Sonya (Alvin) Hartman of Brandon, SD, Sandra (Dick) Gerstenecker, Sheryl (Ray) Thompson, Sharon (Royce) Titze all of Mitchell, SD, Sharlene Schenkel of Brandon, SD; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneve Reisdorph of Inver Grove Heights, MN along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Ann; her parents; two sisters:  Zella Hoffman and Geraldine Corman and one brother, Claude Miller Jr.
