Janet Ann Roti was born August 8, 1935, in Woonsocket, SD, to Albert and Jewell (Hosher) Roti. She graduated from Woonsocket schools where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. Jan married Thomas Glenn in 1953 and they had two daughters, Deborah Rae and Stephanie Lynn. They lived first in Aberdeen, then Minneapolis and St. James, Minnesota before moving to Tacoma, Washington, in 1978. Jan divorced in 1982.
Jan married Michael Randall of Seattle in 1984. They lived in Seattle until moving to Mitchell in 1997. Jan worked first in banking as a teller and supervisor, then in similar positions in other industries until retiring in 1991.
Jan loved to laugh and above all, she deeply loved her family. She gave hugs to all and sundry: kids and strangers and stray dogs. She loved babies and kids and music: old Jazz, gospel and Frank Sinatra (and, given the chance, she might have run off with Arnie Palmer!) She was an excellent golfer and played bridge and thrived on getting together with her Woonsocket Supper Club, Red Hats group and P.E.O. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She and Mike loved their travels to the four corners of the lower 48 and to Alaska and Europe.
Jan is survived by her husband Mike; daughters, Deb Muth and husband Paul of Mitchell; Steph Windschill and husband Brad of Harris, MN; step-children, Peter and Libby Randall of Seattle and Aberdeen, WA; grandchildren, Christopher, Lindsey, Josh and Nic; brother and sister-in-law, Darwin and Pat Roti, Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Barb Salter of Cameron, NC; Nan Randall of Naples, FL; Sandy Roti of Sioux Falls, SD and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Albert; brother, Jim; and former husband, Tom. Jan will always be loved. She now is born to new life with her Creator, and she is free.
