Darlene Marie Goldammer was born April 30, 1937, to Engelbert and Julia (Kaus) Schoenfelder at Dimock, SD. She grew up and attended rural school at Mount Vernon. On April 28, 1958, she married Gerald Maeschen at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. They farmed west of Ethan until moving into Ethan in 1984, where she managed the Agland Co-op Convenience Store. They moved to Mitchell and she was employed at the County Fair Deli for fourteen years until her retirement in 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1997. On January 4, 2004, she married Harold Goldammer at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. She had been a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ethan, was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, the Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Ethan Trail Riders and was an Avon representative.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; two children, Randy Maeschen and wife, Theresa of Mitchell and Cindy Endres and husband, Steve of Mitchell; two brothers, Clet Schoenfelder of Mitchell and Willie Schoenfelder and wife, Kay of Mitchell; and one sister, Shirley Albrecht and husband, Jerry of Parkston; a sister-in-law, Donna Schoenfelder of Mitchell; seven grandchildren: Nathan, William, and Kristin Maeschen, Nikki Burtyk, Jeremy Endres, Stephanie Hagen, and Brandon Endres, four great-grandchildren: Caden Endres, Natalie Endres, Katelyn Burtyk and Preston Maeschen, three step-children: Brian Goldammer and wife, Paulette of Park Rapids, MN, Gail Overman and husband, Stan of Huntsville, AL, Lona Vanlaecken and husband, Pat of Mitchell; eight step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Maeschen, one brother, Bob Schoenfelder, and infant brother, LeRoy, and a sister-in-law, Linda Schoenfelder.
