Obituary

Sharon Rae Larsen was born February 17, 1945, at Jefferson, SD, to William and Caroline (Wiedemer) Heckel. She grew up and attended school at Marion and Wessington Springs and graduated from Wolsey High School. She married Kenneth Larsen in December, 1964. She lived in California for a number of years and then returned to South Dakota in 1974. She lived in Artesian and had been a resident of Mitchell since 1984. She was the manager of the Shipwreck Lounge at the Holiday Inn for a number of years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, taking her daughter to horse shows, playing cards and dice games and hanging out on the beach. She did everything she could to help anyone in need. Sharon loved children and babysat for families and friends. Whatever she did, no matter how long it took, it had to be done right.

She is survived by one daughter, Rama Fuerst and her husband, Rick of Huron; one sister, Judy Gildemaster and husband, Ron of Artesian; one brother, Bobby Warren of Perth, Australia; three grandchildren: Jeff Nicholson of Artesian and Joshua and Tawni Fuerst of Huron, one great-grandchild, Kaden Nicholson of Mount Vernon and her ex-husband, Kenneth Larsen of East Horsley, Surrey, England.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Heckel and her parents.

A memorial fund has been established.

Rama and family, My deepest sympathy to all of you! I worked with Sharon at the Holiday Inn. We still kept in touch at Christmas time and will certainly miss that. This is a very difficult time but may you find comfort in the memories that you have!

Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. So many wonderful memories of your Mother.
