Renee Antoinette Stewart was born March 21, 1950 to Chester and Louise (Adams) Stewart at Renton, WA. She graduated from Renton High School in 1968. She owned and operated a bookstore for many years in Seattle, WA. Later she moved to Hawaii where she attended the University of Hawaii until failing health required her to discontinue her college work. She worked various jobs in Hawaii for several years until she moved to Howard, South Dakota in 2001. She was employed at the PBM Manufacturing Plant for several years. She received an honorary degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in the spring of 2011 with a major in Native American History and a minor in Human Psychology. While at Wesleyan she was a member of TRIO Club and the secretary of the Multicultural Club.
Renee was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. She is survived by a brother, Steve Stewart of Sacramento, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
