Ruth Ernestine Shannon was born February 9, 1915 at Letcher to Ernest and Blanche (Hassel) Shannon. She grew up and attended school at Letcher where she graduated from high school. She moved to Mitchell and was employed as a seamstress at Geyerman’s and then at Feinstein’s for forty-six years, retiring in 1994. Ruth dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed making clothing for every one of them. She was an avid photographer.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Beverly and Dorothy Shannon, nieces: Carol Jo Shannon, Colleen (David) Maurer, Kellie (Larry) Snedeker, nephews: Michael (Deborah) Shannon, Patrick (Marica) Shannon and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sylvia and four brothers: Milford, Wallace, Donald and Ronald.
