Bernard Cornelieus Hoffmann was born February 6, 1928 at White Lake to Ben and Nellie (Meier) Hoffmann. He grew up and attended school at White Lake and then served in the US Army during the Korean War, receiving two Purple Hearts. He married Kathleen McCollum. He was a life long resident of White Lake, working for area farmers and retired from the Hanten Grain Elevator. He is survived by seven step-children: John Jensen, Jeff Hoffmann, Jim Hoffmann, Kelley Hoffmann, Kathy Lee Lehnhart, Jo Alice Griffin, Christine Bordewyk; two sisters: Lucille (Orville) Hengen, Rapid City, Mary Ann Deal, Kimball; one sister-in-law, Sharon Hoffmann, Beloit, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Kathleen, brother, Eugene, sisters: Ione Kolousek, Joann Payton, Gertrude Herrlein, Margaret Mashek and step-son, Jay Hoffmann.
Memorials may be directed to the White Lake American Legion.
