Darlene June Snell was born June 21, 1921, at Spencer, SD, to Charles and Chattie (Hart) Musick. She attended schools in the Spencer area and graduated from Spencer High School in 1939. On November 1, 1941, she married John Cleo Snell at Mount Vernon, SD. They lived on a farm east of Mitchell. In 1946, they moved to Mitchell, where they owned and operated Snell’s Tire and Gas and Super City Laundry. She was also employed at National Foods, Buche’s and Newberry’s. In 1978, they retired and spent winters in Texas and summers in Mitchell.
She is survived by three children: Norma Eppel of Mitchell, Clarene Shaw and husband, Robert of Sioux Falls, John Cleo Snell and wife, Linda of Huron; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one brother, Lindell Musick and wife, Deanna of Mitchell, and a sister-in-law, Maxine Musick of Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 17, 1991, two brothers, Ira and Eugene Musick and her parents.
