Jean Mueller Helgeson was born in Douglas County, SD on December 13, 1911 to Arthur and Anna (Storm) Mueller. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church at rural Dimock. She attended country school and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. She moved to Minneapolis, MN where she was employed as a restaurant hostess at the Sheraton Hotel. On December 31, 1941 she married Gordon Helgeson in Las Vegas, NV, they moved to Long Beach, CA where they lived the rest of their life.
She is survived by one son, Richard Helgeson and wife Vickie of Trabuco Canyon, CA; two granddaughters, three brothers, Elmer Mueller of Mitchell; Harvey Mueller and wife Laverna of Mitchell; Herbert Mueller and wife Margaret of Ethan; one sister, Elsie Rippe of Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, her parents, one brother, Walter and five sisters, Selma Hall, Lillie Histler, Alvina Furniss, Alma Gerbig and Adeline Goldammer.
