Dale Alden Ducheneaux was born September 13, 1934, at his parent’s home near Mobridge to Patrick and Josephine (Whitney) Ducheneaux. He attended the St Joseph Indian School at Chamberlain and graduated from Stephan Mission High School. He served in the US Navy, and then returned to South Dakota. On April 2, 1960, he married Deanna Dayton in Minneapolis, MN. For many years he was a feed mixer for the South Dakota Wheat Growers Co-op and Farmland Industries Co-op, until his retirement. He was a resident of Sioux Falls for 30 years and had been a resident of Mitchell since 2005.
He is survived by his wife Deanna, five sons: Dale Ducheneaux and fiancé Jan of Canton; Mark Ducheneaux of Aberdeen; Jeff Ducheneaux and wife Lisa of Sioux Falls; Kelly Ducheneaux and wife Mary of Tekamaka, NE; Lance Ducheneaux and wife Jodi of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Dallas Ducheneaux and wife Frances of Amarillo, TX; and two sisters, Myrna Christenson and husband Bob of Aberdeen and Kay Rehfeld and husband Harlan of Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
