Marietta Jean Bollock was born on November 11, 1952, in Platte to John and Gertrude (Overweg) Timmermans. She grew up and attended New Holland Christian Grade School and Dakota Christian High School.
On March 19, 1970 she married Von Denning in New Holland. She worked as a clerk at Douglas County Livestock for several years. She then became a home visitor for Head Start. On February 20, 1982 she married George Bollock in Rapid City. She worked for Avera Health Systems as a nursing assistant for seventeen years until her health forced her to retire in October, 2010. She spent time volunteering for the Lions Eye Bank, where she was an advocate speaker for organ donation. She enjoyed quilting and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her husband, George; six children: Vonda Broer and husband, Clint, Onawa, IA, Eric Denning and wife, Sherri, Mt. Vernon, Ward Denning and wife, Tammie, Lennox, Lee Bollock and wife, Brittani, Omaha, NE, Clint Bollock, Harrisburg and Clay Bollock, Mt. Vernon; two stepdaughters: Paula Deinert, Sioux Falls and Connie Dyke and husband, Dennis, Colorado Springs, CO; a sister: Marlene Daale and husband, Ron, Hawarden, IA; two brothers: Allen Timmermans and wife, Sharon, Sioux Falls, Alvie Timmermans and wife, Lonnie, New Holland; seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother-in-law, Dwayne Breukelman and one nephew.
A Memorial Fund has been established for the Lions Eye Bank.
