Ronald Joseph Joyce

     Ronald Joseph Joyce was born May 19, 1936 to Raymond Eugene and M. SaBina (Knox) Joyce in New Rockford, ND.  He attended St. James Academy, New Rockford and St. Elizabeth Grade School in Sykeston, North Dakota and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in 1954 in Mitchell. He was employed at Educator Supply in Mitchell, and attended St. John’s College, Collegeville, MN.  He worked in the purchasing department of Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA.  He moved back to Mitchell in 1969, and was a chef at Doc & Eddy's Restaurant until his retirement.

      He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the South Dakota National Guard, Knights of Columbus and was a Scoutmaster with Troop 72 in Mitchell.

      He is survived by four sisters:  Sr. M. Eleanor Joyce, Aberdeen, SD, Sr. SaBina Joyce, Aberdeen, SD, Rose Anne and husband, Ed Colella, Sioux Falls, SD, Bernardine  Knapp and husband, William, Lakeside, CA; two brothers:  Rev. James M Joyce, Sioux Falls, SD, Thomas F. Joyce, Sebastopol, CA; one sister-in-law, Margaret Joyce, Troy, MI. and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, Dr. John A. Joyce and an infant brother, Raymond.

I miss my brother, Ronnie, so much and always will. A good, good man, good to everyone and brought joy to all he met. The happy memories fill the heart now. Many thanks to all who attended the memorable services for Ronnie, Friday, Nov.5, his funeral on Saturday, Nov.6 and mili-tary graveside service in Redfield. And to all who signed the Guestbooks. Ron is at peace, no more struggles for every breath. He was a very special man and was so enjoyed while here at Southridge. He was very fortunate to have his family. My sincere sympathy to all of you. Sylvia
