August “Gus” Lawrence Brech was born August 1, 1928 to Peter and Katherine (Bracha) Brech at Milltown.  He grew up and attended school in Parkston and Mitchell.  He married LaVonne Jenney on February 18, 1950 in Mitchell.  He was in the construction business for over fifty years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose and a lifelong member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Gus enjoyed horses and spending time outdoors.

Gus is survived by one son, Daniel Brech, Mitchell; two daughters: Dixie Paganucci and husband, George of Cool, CA and Diane Goldston of Chamberlain; one brother, Leo Brech and one sister, Betty Boone, both of Mitchell; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne, a son, David, a daughter, Debra and his parents, two brothers, Melvin and Doyle and three sisters, Gladys, Leona and Elsie.
