Marie Clara Hohn was born October 7, 1916, at Mitchell, to Albert and Clara (Hilgendorf) Jenks. She attended school at Mitchell, and graduated from Mitchell High School. On June 8, 1937, she married Orville Hohn in Mitchell. She was employed at the Lawler Hotel, Westside Café, Stevens Motel and was a seamstress. In 1998, she moved to Newland, NC. She returned to Mitchell and had been a resident of the Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket since 2005. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
She is survived by six children: Veryl Hohn of Mitchell, Doris Schneider of Mitchell, Joyce Nolz of Galesburg, IL, Wayne Hohn and wife, Wanda of Mitchell, Jennell Henderson and husband, Jim of Newland, NC, and Sandra Hohn of Newland, NC; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Viola Jenks of Mitchell, Fern Jenks of Tripp and Maxine Hohn of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville in 1971, two brothers, Willard and Emery Jenks, one grandson, Wes Hohn, two great-grandsons, Chris Hohn and Thomas Schneider, and one great-great- granddaughter, Clara Ortman.
