John William Alexa was born January 10, 1917, at Chicago, IL, to John and Genevieve (Long) Alexa. He grew up and attended school at Chicago. He served in the US Army in France during World War II. He married Sophie Dolores in Chicago. He was a Department Store District Manager in Chicago for many years. He lived in Alexandria, Emery and had been a resident of Mitchell, since 2001. He was a member of the DAV and attended St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria and St. Martin Catholic Church in Emery. He was preceded in death by his wife Sophie.
