Kenneth Emery Patterson was born August 20, 1942, in Mitchell to Emery and Louise (Van Overschelde) Patterson. He grew up near Letcher and Woonsocket and attended Saint Colletta Catholic School in Wisconsin. He lived and attended school in Redfield, SD, then returned to Woonsocket to help his father on the farm. He moved with his family to Mitchell in 1968 and began working for the Mitchell Adjustment Training Center and was employed at Fannie Horner’s Restaurant in Mitchell for many years. He enjoyed traveling on tours, visiting with his many friends and neighbors and traveling around town in his three wheeled bicycle.

He is survived by two sisters, Nancy Willoughby and husband, Duane of Mitchell, Kathy Roderick of Custer; four nephews: Lanny, Lionel and Laren Roderick and Patrick Carlin Roderick; and two nieces, Heather Jandreau and Karina Willoughby. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenny always had a big friendly smiled and enjoyed meeting new people. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. My condolences to his family and friends.
