She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Mitchell and Presentation College in Aberdeen in 1954 with a teaching certificate. Kay married John Oster on August 23, 1958 in Mitchell. She worked as a teacher before her marriage and for a few years after. Kay then made the decision to stay at home to raise her family. She belonged to the Lunch Bunch, the Red Hat Ladies, 500 Club, Bridge Club, Holy Trinity Altar Society, the Ethan American Legion Auxiliary, lifelong and active member of the Democratic Party and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Kay was an avid sports fan and loved more than anything watching her children and then grandchildren participate in athletic and fine art activities. She truly enjoyed going out to eat with her lady friends, playing cards, watching old movies and dancing with her husband, John. Kay had a deep faith in our Lord and will be missed by her family and friends very much.
