Obituary

 

     Anthony Mathew Weber was born June 27, 1918 at Ethan, SD to Ludwig and Elizabeth Weber.  He cultivated his love of sports playing basketball and baseball for St. Martin’s High School in Emery. Later he became the coach for St. Martin’s High School and went on to play with the Emery traveling baseball and basketball teams.  He married Colette Margaret Loes.  He was part owner of the T & R Grocery in Emery until moving to New Mexico in 1957.  He managed stores in Los Alamos, Espanola, White Rock and Sante Fe before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1971 to join his children. He was a member of the B Sharps and Reel Rebels Square Dance clubs and the dancing Shadows Round Dance Club. Tony’s heart has always been in Emery and appreciated every issue of the Emery Enterprise, especially the “Down Memory Lane” articles.

 

     He is survived by his children: Janet Miller, Dan and Lee Weber, Linda McCarney, Patty and Eddie Perida; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; his companion of thirty-six years, Maybelle (Jerry) Logan; brother, Joseph and Jane Weber of White Rock, NM; sister-in-law, Edna Weber of Mitchell and extended family, James and Kathy Logan of Pampa, TX, Joyce and Steven Stivers of Colorado Springs, CO, Christine Logan of Evergreen, CO and their twelve children and eleven grandchildren.

 

      He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Colette, son, Michael, his parents, sisters, Gertrude Johnston, Agnes Biehl, brothers Sylvester and Wilfred Weber, brothers-in-law, Ray and John Loes and sister-in-law, Geraldine Olinger.
