Herman Albert Weeldreyer was born December 4, 1910 to Harm A. and Gertie (Terveen) Weeldreyer in Emery, SD. He grew up on a farm east of Emery. He attended school and graduated from Emery High School. Herman married Violet Bertha Triebwasser on June 9, 1936 in Emery. He worked with his brother, John, at the hatchery and owned and operated the Gambles Store in Emery. He also farmed for many years south of Emery, retiring and moving to town in the 1990’s.
Herman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Emery and served many years as Trustee and also helped build the church.
He is survived by two sons: James and his wife, Vicki of Rapid City, SD and Dale and his wife, Lori of Pewaukee, WI; one sister, Ruby and her husband, Francis Fitzpatrick, Eugene, OR; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Violet; his parents; one son, Warren; three brothers: John, Albert and Herman; four sisters: Tilly Heitzman, Lena Heitzman, Gertrude Edzards and Myrtle Schaub.
