Odella A. (Moody, Johnson) McDonald Loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, compassionate educator Odella Agnes McDonald, age 91, passed away Monday, August 3 in Emmett, Idaho. She was born April 28, 1918 in Artesian, SD. She graduated from Forestburg in 1935. Odella began teaching at age eighteen in the Artesian area. Odella was also a speech therapist and member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She was compassionate about helping children learn the value of an education. She taught in several schools in South Dakota including Letcher, Cuthbert, Forestburg and taught in Simi Valley, CA. She retired from teaching at Litchfield School in Mitchell in 1980 after sixteen years there. She married Monte Johnson in August of 1937. Monte passed away in 1957 in a boating accident. She married Clarence McDonald in August of 1960. Clarence passed away in January of 2001. Odella was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Giddings and son, Gary Johnson of Emmett, ID and son, James McDonald of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by granddaughters Tracy Adams, Lisa Garcia, Tricia Jensen, Jennifer Landanger, and many great-grandchildren.
