Margaret Ann Albertz was born in Aberdeen on June 1, 1936, to Howard and Genevieve (Hanrahan) North. She grew up in both Huron and Murdo, and later moved to a farm south of Alexandria. After 28 years of raising her children on the farm, she spent her remaining years in Mitchell.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. One of her many favorite pastimes was scouting various auctions and sales for her antique collection. She had a great sense of wit and humor and loved to share it with everyone. Margaret never hesitated to help the friends and family around her, and volunteered at various entities in the community over the last several years.
She is survived by her children: Valerie Marshall, Madison, SD, Mark Louder, Ft. Pierre, SD, Mike Louder, Citrus Heights, CA, Mary Fry, Lewistown, MT, Colleen Thomas, Rapid City, SD, Jill Pitts, Lewistown, MT, and Jon Louder, Mitchell, SD; eleven grandchildren and step-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers: Rose Iversen, Chamberlain, SD, John ‘Buzz’ North, Huron, SD, James North, Osceola, WI, Rita Johnson, Bell Fourche, SD, and Carol Mertens, Mitchell, SD and several nieces and nephews.
