Ruth Irene Lager Schultz was born December 9, 1918, at Fedora, SD, to Daton and Estella (Dansfield) Lambert. She grew up and attended school at Fedora. On March 26, 1937, she married Charles Lager, at Fedora, SD. They were longtime residents of the Artesian and Fedora area. He preceded her in death in 1971. On May 4, 1977, she married William Schultz at Coeur d’Alene, ID. She was a resident of Worley, ID, until 1988, when she moved to Mitchell. She had been a resident of the Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community in Sioux Falls since 2005. She was a member of the Fedora Rebekah Lodge, Beaver Extension Club and attended the Fedora Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Lila Annis and husband, Richard of Mesa, AZ; three sons: Bob Lager and wife, Barb of  Miller, SD, Don Lager and wife, Shirley of Sioux Falls, SD, and Gary Lager and wife, Donna of Sioux Falls, SD;  fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, two sisters, Harriet Hylland and Arletta Anderson, an infant brother, Bryan, and one grandson, Barry Lager.

 The family wishes to thank the staff of Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community and Hospice Care for their loving care and concern for our mother, Ruth.
