Beulah Carolyn (Scott) Asbenson


March 22, 1918 - May 17, 2009




Beulah Carolyn Asbenson was born on March 22, 1918 at Storla to Christ and Julia (Storla) Scott.  She was baptized on April 14, 1918 at the West Trinity Lutheran Church in Storla, SD by Reverend T. Thompson.  She was confirmed at the Storla Evangelical Lutheran Church on June 29, 1932 by Reverend E.T. Lundy.  Her faith was a very important part of her life.

She attended grade school in the Storla area and in the sixth grade she had her sister, Viola, for a teacher.  She attended and graduated from Letcher High School.  On November 28th, 1939 she was united in marriage to Luverne Asbenson by Reverend E.T. Lundy at the Storla Evangelical Lutheran Church.  They lived in Minnesota, Belford Township, Canton and in Palm Desert and Sky Valley, CA.  In 1986 she moved to the Storla area again and stayed with her sons as well as lived in Meadowlawn Plaza in Mitchell for several years.

On March 22, 2008 she celebrated her 90th birthday with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as other family and friends.  It was the highlight of her later life.

She is survived by her children:  Jewel (Mike) Williamson, Portland, OR; Clint (Natasha) Asbenson, Quartsite, AR; LuRay (Loretta) Asbenson, Mitchell, SD; Wes Asbenson, Morongo Valley, CA; Judy (Jerry) Kleiboeker, LaMesa, CA; Eldon Asbenson, Letcher, SD and Lyndell (Rhonda) Asbenson, Orangevale, CA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law:  Marvis Scott, Thelma Gjesdal and Evelyn Saville all of Mitchell.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings:  Viola, Leo, Harlan and Glen Scott; a son, Adrian in 1974; her husband in 1986; a grandson, Torry Asbenson in 1990 and Alice Asbenson, wife of Wesley in 2007.

She will be greatly missed. She was a high spirited women of the Lord, and was very wise.
