Betty Faye Folkerts was born October 9, 1947 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Arthur Lloyd and Tommie Louise (Lee) Owen. At a young age she moved to South Dakota. On May 24, 1980 she married Robert Folkerts at Dimock, SD. She was employed by Sheesley Plumbing and Heating for a number of years and then for the Hanson and Davison rural water departments for many years. For the past ten years she owned and operated Betty’s Café on Mitchell’s main street.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, one son, Lloyd Vetos and wife Shari of Reno, NV, three daughters, Laura Rang of Sioux Falls, Tammy Rose and husband Fred of Phoenix, AZ and Patsy Sanchez and husband Bennie of Tucson, AZ, one brother, Butch Owen of Houston, TX, eight grandchildren: Kolt and Bryer Vetos, Randy and Kelsey Rang, Carly Rose, Jacob Amador, Cierra and Bella Sanchez and two great-grandchildren: Jackson Rang and Haleigh Conrad.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Buster.
