Kathleen Martina Sievert was born October 24, 1947 in Mitchell, SD to Robert and Ann (Lawrence) Mentele. She grew up attending grade school at St. Mary’s in Epiphany and graduated from Canova High School. On November 26, 1966 she married Maynard Sievert in Epiphany. She was a homemaker her entire life. She was dedicated to taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was more concerned with the welfare of everyone she knew, before herself. Anyone who knew her would say she was the most generous and giving person they ever knew.
Kathleen is survived by two daughters: Lori Sievert and Stephanie Sievert of Mitchell, SD; three sons: Tod Sievert and wife, LeeAnn of Mitchell, SD, Bradley Sievert and wife, Teresa of Pleasanton, NE, and Ryan Sievert of Letcher, SD; four sisters: Mary Ann Schwader of Howard, SD, Phyllis Jacobsen and husband, Terry of Canova, SD, Susie Schrank and husband, Harvey of Fedora, SD and Anita Pederson of Sioux Falls, SD; seven brothers: Tom Mentele and wife, Rosie of Howard, SD, Mike Mentele and wife, Elaine of Fulton, SD, Pat Mentele and wife, Lynell of Woonsocket, SD, Chuck Mentele of Canova, SD, Denny Mentele and wife, Wanda of Howard, SD, Danny Mentele of Madison, SD and Billy Mentele and wife, Nancy of Canova, SD and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christina, two brothers, Jim and Roger, sister-in-law, Janice Mentele, brother-in-law, Jim Schwader and nephew, Troy Mentele.
