Obituary

Faye Pearson, 90, Mitchell, SD, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 18 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Faye O’Neal Pearson was born on November 26, 1927 on a farm near Fedora, SD to Harry and Nellie (Stanfield) O’Neal. She attended the O’Neal School North of the O’Neal Homestead through 4th grade. She then attended the Fedora Consolidated School where she graduated in 1946. After graduation, she worked for JC Penny’s for a year. She worked at Northwestern Bell in Mitchell from October 1947 to September 1950.

On August 18, 1950 she married Norman Eugene Pearson in Luverne, MN. They raised two boys and a girl. Faye went back to work in September 1965 in the Admittance Office at St. Joseph Hospital, where she worked until 1968. She worked at Walrath Craig Insurance Co., and later worked at Musick & Assoc until 1992.

She was a member of the VFW Auxillary, and the Mitchell Area Historical Society.

Faye is survived by her husband, Norman Pearson; three children, Dennis Ray (Karen) Pearson, Sioux Falls, Wayne Eugene Pearson, Mitchell, and Lynda Louise Peterson, Harrisburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilbur O’Neal; infant daughter, Lori Ann Pearson; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy O’Neal.

My sympathies surround Faye's family. She is now with her Maker ...You were blessed to have her for your mother.. Love to all.
