Marian Elaine Klock


May 18, 1928 - December 4, 2008




Marian Elaine Klock  was born May 18, 1928 at the family farm near Emery to Diedrich D. and Lida (Osterloo) Janssen.  On December 19, 1947 she married Marvin Klock.  They farmed on the Klock family farm southwest of Emery until retiring in January 1993.  Due to a severe stroke in 2000, she had been a resident of the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater until January 2007 and then moved to the Freeman Community Nursing Home in Freeman.  She was a life time member of the First Baptist Church where she was involved in Kings Daughters and WMU.

She is survived by one son, Randy Klock and wife, Judy of Emery, SD; three daughters: Sandra Lienemann and husband, Mike of Lake City, FL, Pam Minor and husband, Randy of Sioux Falls, SD, Cheryl Metzger and husband, Joe of Lake City, FL; two sisters: Marjorie Fluth and husband, Harley and JoAnn Weber and husband, Robert both of Emery, SD; two brothers-in-law, Lowell Terveen and LeRoy Ibis of Emery, SD and a sister-in-law, Luella Browen of Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren: Leslie Hiatt and husband, Kyle of Omaha, NE, Kristi Crandall of LaCrosse, WI, Jarod Klock and wife, Angela of Omaha, NE, Ryan Crandall and fiancé, Julie Green of Brashear, MO, Jessica Nielsen and husband, Blair of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Hannah and Elani Minor of Sioux Falls, SD and Elizabeth and Emily Metzger of Lake City, FL; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin in September 1995, two sons, Kevin in May 1995 and one in infancy, two brothers, Loren and Diedrich, four sisters, Lillian Scharffenberg, Mable Decker, Averyl Terveen and Janet Ibis.
