Charles Franklin Cosand was born September 30, 1925 at Madison, SD to Frank and Maggie (Hines) Cosand. At the age of 18 he moved to Milwaukee, WI and worked for Wisconsin Cold Storage. On June 6, 1955 he married Ruth Ann Altman at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plankinton. They moved to a farm south of White Lake where he was employed by Nels Kristensen for thirty-five years. In 1991 he retired and moved into White Lake. He stayed involved working by doing yard work, mowing lawns and mowing the cemetery. The month of December and Christmas was his most favorite time of the year. He loved decorating for the holidays. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; one son Terry Cosand and wife, Cindy of Sioux Falls, SD; three daughters: LeeAnn Pfaff and husband, Jerel of Sioux Falls, SD, Charlene Henderson and husband, Mike of Clark, SD, and Ann Fuoss and special friend, Jesse Rasmussen of Mitchell, SD; ten grandchildren: Kyle, Brett, Drew and Kjerstin Cosand, Stephanie and Adam Henderson, Trevor, Korey, Kaelie and Tyler Fuoss; one brother, J im Stanley and wife Doris of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lawrence Cosand and one step-sister, Gladys Dale.
