Obituary

Delsena Snedeker, 90, of Mitchell died, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Firesteel Health Care Center in Mitchell.  Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 9 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Delsena E. Snedeker was born April 18, 1927 in DeSmet, SD to Frank and Edyth (Buchman) Stransky. She grew up and attended school in Carthage, SD.

On June 15, 1946 she married Claude R. Snedeker Sr. in Pipestone, MN. The couple moved to Mitchell, SD where she worked as a waitress all of her adult life at the Lawler Café and Loretta’s Truck Haven. She retired to take care of her husband until he passed away of cancer.

She was a member of the Congregational Church and past member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Women League, and Wesley Acres Auxiliary.  

She is survived by a son, Larry (Kellie) Snedeker; three sisters, Louise (Vern) Burhop, Batavia, IL, Darleen Armstrong, Enumclaw, WA, and Loretta Gulckson, DeKalb, IL; grandchildren Christopher, Bradley, and Jonathan Snedeker; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Sr.; son Claude Jr.; her parents; her parents-in-law, Clyde and Mae Snedeker; brothers, Wilbur and Ezra Stransky; sisters, Evelyn Zobel and Clara Radensleben; and brothers-in-law Keith Armstrong and Robert Gullickson.

Delsena and I were good friends for a long time,we had some good laughes too.She was avery nice lady. I learn a lot from her.I will never forget her.
