Arlene Faye Kayser was born March 19, 1953 in Parkston, SD to Edgar and Ruth (Schmeichel) Rose. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Clayton, SD. She attended country school in Hutchinson County and graduated from Scotland High School. Arlene was employed at the Corsica Bakery for many years. On October 12, 1985 she married Raymond Kayser at the United Methodist Church in Stickney. After moving to Stickney, Arlene opened her heart and home to numerous daycare children for over 25 years. Arlene’s dream of having a child of her own became a reality when God blessed her with a daughter and her stepchildren were loved like her own. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, friends, shopping with her twin sister, Irene, baking and then giving it away to staff at the Cancer Center, daycare families, and neighbors. She was a prankster with a hearty laugh, always had a smile on her face and was a joy to everyone she was around. She was a member of the Stickney United Methodist Church, where she and Kay were Communion Stewards and she was involved with the United Methodist Women, the American Legion Auxiliary and Modern Woodmen of America.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond “Kay” Kayser, her daughter, Taya Lynn (Nicholas) Christensen of Spearfish, stepchildren: Kurtis (JoAnn) Kayser, Wayne (Christine) Kayser of Aberdeen, Sherrie Wagner and significant other, Mike Berg of Tripp, Carrie (Jim) Gunn of Council Bluffs, IA, Steven (Kristi) Kayser of Mitchell, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her mother, Ruth Rose of Scotland, sister, Irene (Frank) Hoadley of Mitchell and brother, Allen (Tamara) Rose of Foley, AL.
