Elaine Olina Olson was born July 12, 1947 at Crosby, ND to Olin and Edna (Riskjl) Riveland. She grew up on a farm near Fortuna, ND and graduated from high school in Grenora, ND. On March 30, 1968 she married Lewis Olson. They moved to Epping, ND in 1973 and in 1989 moved to Minatare, NE. She worked at WalMart in Scottsbluff, NE until moving to Scotland, SD in 1994. In 2004 they moved to Tyndall. She worked at WalMart in Yankton for several years and was a traveling nurse’s aide for the Lewis and Clark Health Services. Following an automobile accident in May 2006, which resulted in the death of her husband, she became a resident of the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring person who was always willing to lend a hand and that showed in every aspect of her life. We are all lucky to have had the chance to spend the time we had with her and our lives will forever be better for that.
She is survived by her four sons: Mark Olson of Shalimar, FL, Troy Olson of Williston, ND, Luke Olson of Bridgewater, SD, Lyle Olson and wife, Laurenda of Mitchell, SD; her mother, Edna Riveland of Williston, ND; nine grandchildren; four sisters: Wanda Kruger and husband, Darol of Valley City, ND, Mary Ann Anderson and husband, Tim of Salina, KS, Carolyne Bernier of Toledo, OH, LaVon Irwin and husband, Loren of Williston, ND; two brothers: Lyle Riveland and wife, Diane of Fargo, ND, Roger Riveland of Williston, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis and her father, Olin.
