Obituary

Bernard “Bernie” Tegethoff, 80, Mitchell died Monday, January 29, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, February 2 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Thursday with a Scripture Service at 7:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Bernard James Tegethoff was born April 2, 1937 at Corsica, SD to Conrad and Rickie (VanderHeiden) Tegethoff. He grew up in Platte and later moved to Mitchell. On June 15, 1955 he married Patricia Lanctot in Mitchell. Bernie was employed at Woolworths and Mitchell Concrete for several years and then he started Dakota Redi Mix, J & B Construction and Bernie Tegethoff Construction. At the age of 65 Bernie retired. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Moose and Elks Lodge, American Legion, Mitchell Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge, Country Travelers Car Club and Outkast Car Club. Bernie was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed family camping trips, taking bus trips and going to coffee with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, three daughters: Cynthia (Bruce) Trebil of Mitchell, Pamela (Dan) Roeder of Mitchell, Tracy (Kathy) Tegethoff of Commerce City, CO, three sons: Ricky (Roxane) Tegethoff, James (Kay) Tegehoff all of Mitchell, Bernard (Danita) Tegethoff Jr. of Sioux Falls, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Craig, two sisters: Ann Schoppert, Ruth Steffes and brother, Harold.

Rick & Roxane, we are so very sorry to see that Bernie passed away recently. Pudge has great memories of working for him back in the 70's. Take care.
