Marsha Corcoran, 64, of Mitchell, SD died November 5, 2017 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Harvest Community Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Tuesday with a 6:30 prayer service at Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Marsha Kay Corcoran was born to John and Mary (O’Connor) Seiders on December 20, 1952. She lived in rural Alexandria until 1957 when they moved to town. She graduated from Hansen High School in Alexandria in 1971. She then attended Northern State College, graduating in 1974 with a teaching degree in Special Education. She moved to Beresford after graduation and she married Charles (Ron) Corcoran on December 30, 1975. To this union two daughters were born (Rebecca and Katie). After divorcing in 1993, Marsha moved to Mitchell. Throughout the years she taught at Custer State Hospital, Winner Handicapped School, and in a teacher’s co-op around Beresford serving several small communities. She opened a daycare called Teddy Bears and Rainbows in Beresford, continuing her love of teaching children. In 1993 she moved to Mitchell working as an Activities Director at Firesteel Healthcare Center until her retirement. Marsha was always very involved in the community. She started Helping Hands Pantry in 2007, proudly serving Mitchell for the past 10 years. She belonged to the Lioness, SDEA, Respite Care, American Legions Aux, MACPD, MANA Mitchell, and Dine Out Group.
Marsha enjoyed spending life with family and friends. Marsha lived life to the fullest and was thankful for time on this earth.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Becky Tews (Jason Feiock) and Katie (Jeffrey) Buus (Jeffrey) two grandchildren, Cassidy Corcoran and Sidney Hockett; a sister, Margaret (Gary) Neugebauer and their children Eric (Brandi) and Greyson Neugebauer, Melissa (Doug) Mentele and their children : Morgan, Bailey, Devin Mentele, Kyle (Brandi) Neugebauer and their children Kale and Hattie Neugebauer, Jodi Neugebauer, Shelly (Nick) Lorang and their child Madalynn; several in-laws; special niece, Patricia Jones, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father; several brother and sisters-in-law; and husband.
