Imelda Meyers Loes was born September 8, 1920 near Farmer, SD to William and Lucy (Dunn) Meyers. She graduated from Farmer High School. She was employed by the Mitchell Abstract Company and later by the Getty Abstract Company in Sioux Falls. On November 12, 1960 she married Fred Loes at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Sioux Falls. They farmed the Loes homestead near Emery. In 2006 she became a resident of Edgewood Vista in Sioux Falls. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart League. She was an avid bowler, gardener and enjoyed helping her husband, Freddie on the farm.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Calista DiGiulian of Falls Church, VA and Teresa Dillinger of Denver, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred in March 2008, a brother, Maurice “Bud” Meyers and a sister Velma Thomas.
