Obituary

Kenneth A. Hohn, 81, of Mitchell, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, October 19, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock, SD. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a 7:00 PM scripture service, followed by a rosary. Arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth Arthur Hohn was born May 16, 1936 on a farm near Dimock, SD to Herb and Mary Katherine (Weber) Hohn. He grew up on a different farmstead and attended Dimock Catholic School. On September 15, 1959 he married Adeline Brech in Parkston, SD. The couple lived in Mitchell, SD where he worked for Robert Burns Lumber Company for 13 years. He later went on his own and did contracting work until retiring in 2004. He was a member of the South Dakota National Guard for 10 years and was a member of the Moose Lodge for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Adeline; daughter Nancy; two sisters Mary Magdlen Schoenfelder, Parkston, SD and Jeanette Ernster and Husband Jim, Mitchell, SD; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ralph; and brother-in-law Herb Schoenfelder.
