Suzanne Grigg, 94, of Mitchell, SD, died June 22, 2017 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Suzanne Grigg was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on July 22, 1922, but her father moved the family to New York where he developed and published a business economic digest. She attended New Paltz College in New York, then joined the advertising firm Burton Barton Durston and Osborn (BBD & 0) during World War II.
She was introduced to Dan Grigg through some relatives, and the pair married in 1948, and moved back to Mitchell where Dan owned and operated Grigg Clothing Company for 50 years. Suzanne was active in PEO, Sedici, the Mitchell Garden Club and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Her love of music got her involved in the advent season musical dinner theater Madrigals. She was also on the board of the Abbott House. A local poet, she was published in Pasque Petals, a South Dakota poetry journal.
Suzanne is survived by her children: Sharon (Greg) Pierce of Los Angeles, Anne Anderson of Sioux Falls, Sarah (Bill) Black of Omaha, Dan (Kim) Grigg of St. Charles Missouri, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Dan, son-in-law Lee Anderson, sister Nancy Stark, and brothers Harold, Howard, and Frank Wright.
